Lost without God

These photos started out as an idea I had for a topic on "misplaced" and then grew into my "series of" theme instead. The more pictures I took the more meaning the shots had to me. Lately I have been feeling like I'm lost on some sort of crazy back road trying to use my outdated map to find God. So that's what these photos mean to me. They aren't nearly as artsy as I usually like my photos to look, but meaningful nonetheless.

so many thoughts Char, this is one of my favorite projects you've done. This class is all about us trying to convey honesty in our photos, and you really did that. This project is such a great representation of the place on your journey that you're in right now. Gosh I love it. Way to be vulnerable.
On the technical side, love the lighting in the F-hole pic, how'd you get that? This birds flying n the field one are amazing. The cross behind the subject in the prayer chap is great. God can be so near and we aren't even aware.
Awesome work at stepping away from the artsy-fartsy char shots and getting raw. maybe I'm in love with you and these photos.

I love all of the saturation and contrast in all of the pictures. They are very artistic to me. Well done.

I am amazed at how you got the birds in your image...was that really happening when you took the picture? (did you have an assistant on the side running to scare them to flight?)

Bravo on really addressing a deep issue visually...I know from experience how difficult that can be...did this series keep you awake at night? (My photos for the faculty show did...but I was glad for it in the end).

As much as I appreciate the artsy side of your photos I cling conceptual art and love what you are trying the accomplish here.

I do have to say that I was a bit confused with the first picture...so you are lost and looking for direction in the shower??? I'd love to hear your thoughts behind that one.

I really like the dude in the middle of the field with the map. So lost. It's great.

Wow...I don't know that I can express all that I see in this series of photos. The idea is absolutely amazing. Each photo has a distinct setting, but they all portray the same thing. I almost feel unsettled after looking at them, mainly because of the title you gave them. Searching for God in all the wrong places plain sucks. Great work!
