emotions

These photos were meant to either capture an emotion or invoke an emotion in the viewer. (I took these in India and Africa)

Gallery Reviews

Minthorne Gallery

It was really neat to see art done by our professors, some that I know well and some that I don't know at all. I really enjoyed the different interpretations shown through each display of art. Tim's glass pieces stood out to me the most. I really loved them, beautiful. I think this exhibit is a really great way for us to get to know our professors a little better, and I think allowing us to see their art and interpretations of the Bible is a really intimate way of opening up to students.

The Cheat

This is a concept a friend and I thought up while brainstorming interesting photo themes a couple years back. It has taken me this long to find the right people for the shot. I had envisioned this shot outside but of course it rained on the day I scheduled the shoot. But with the background as the only downfall to my vision I like how they turned out. I would like to do it again outside someday though. The story line for these photos are this: There is a couple in the foreground of the photo in which the man has cheated on his girlfriend. A woman in red holding an apple stands in the background as the woman whom he cheated with. A scandalous photo with undeniable symbolism… open to interpretation.

1st film project... unconscious habits

These are photos of Molly Boyle. We both work as photographers for MarCom. Before shooting mug shots in the studio we have to make sure the lighting is right and that everything is set up, so we often take photos of each other. These are candid shots of molly just being herself as we set up for work and play with the lighting.

Also... my film came out really purple so i'm guessing that the fixer was bad when i developed the negatives. So these photos are kind of gray. The darkroom hates me.

ordinary... unusual

My idea was to take something normal… like a pair of high heals… and then make it unusual…
